GWR Non-Corridor Coach Reskin Pack

Produced by Elias Dobner is this lovely skin pack for GWR type non-corridor coaches!!!

The passenger coaches of the Great Western Railway (GWR) were many and varied, ranging from four and six-wheeled vehicles for the original broad gauge line of 1838, through to bogie coaches up to 70 feet (21 m) long which were in service through to 1947. Vacuum brakes, bogies and through-corridors all came into use during the nineteenth century, and in 1900 the first electrically lit coaches were put into service. The 1920s saw some vehicles fitted with automatic couplings and steel bodies.

Early vehicles were built by a number of independent companies, but in 1844 the railway started to build carriages at Swindon railway works, which eventually provided most of the railway's stock. Special vehicles included sleeping carsrestaurant cars and slip coaches. Passengers were also carried in railmotorsautotrains, and diesel railcars. Passenger-rated vans carried parcels, horses, and milk and at express speeds.

Most coaches were painted in a chocolate brown and cream livery, although this did change over the years, however they were plain brown or red until 1864 and from 1908 to 1922. Parcels vans and similar vehicles were seldom painted in the two-colour livery, being plain brown or red instead, which caused them to be known as "brown vehicles".

GCr non-corridor Coach Reskin Pack

Produced by Elias Dobner is this Great Central Railway Non-Corridor Coach Reskin Pack. Created from references of several preserved vehicles (big shoutout to the vintage carriages trust, the GCR heritage railway and Quainton Road for taking care of some many pieces of railway history), here are a set of 14 reskins to bring another companies’ passenger services back to life. The iconic Woodhead tunnels on the Great Central Mainline have been brought into the game many years ago, now is the time to get nostalgic! With the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway being renamed to GCR in 1897, hinting at its London Extension, the coaches represented in this pack cover the era from said change of names up to the first World War when the coach livery was changed to a more sparse one without lining or application of the rather modern crest (having been introduced in 1897 it mirrored to the progress and change in art styles compared to many other crests introduced during the first years of railways in the UK).

S&D Goods Stock Reskin Pack

Produced by Elias Dobner is this Somerset and Dorset Goods Stock Pack, The Somerset and Dorset Railway had a long a varied working life, this pack depicts the era between around 1900 up to its amalgamation, forming part of the LMS. Initially formed as an independent company, the Somerset and Dorset Railway Company suffered from low income which led to several accidents and incidents on the line, consequently forcing the main shareholders, the LSWR and MR to take action. This committee soon started to tidy things up and the rural line was now worked in a responsible manner. Contained in this package are a variety of goods wagons commonly seen on the S&D, to revive this rather nostalgic rail network from the very first days of RailSimulator.
